No one likes to be ghosted! It’s a problem everyone complains about in real life and within dating app experiences!  Nuzzl has taken this head on in our app. Similar to the reason that we ensure everyone has a real/full problem and gets verified, we want to encourage real connections and users of our app to be engaged and here for the right reasons.  That’s why we have a No Ghosting Policy.

As soon as you match with someone, a 3 day timer starts for both people.  You each have 3 days to send a message and start the conversation.  If you fail to send message to the person before that clock runs out, the match is expires and you will receive a “strike” on your account.  Too many strikes and you could be removed from the app!

Avoiding a strike is easy:

  1. Simply start the conversation. Even if its to ask them about their dog or tell them about yours, say something to kick it off
  2. Un-match them. If you changed your mind, or are talking to someone else, or simply don’t have the time to start a conversation, just unmatch that person before the 3 day timer runs out.
  3. Pause your profile if you are too busy or traveling and unable to message or respond to people simply pause your profile.

We just believe its disrespectful to ignore and ghost a new match. Though ghosting may never go away in real life outside of Nuzzl, at least within the app experience we want to encourage conversations with matches and being engaged with the experience!
